I was born in 1959 and raised in the San Francisco bay area. In 1983 I received my bachelors degrees in chemistry and biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After a career in pharmaceutical process development I was introduced to hand-coated photographic printing methods in 2007 and began shooting large format film in 2008. My background in chemical process development provided a wonderful foundation for learning hand-coated printing methods. I have participated in numerous workshops on alternative process printing and fine art photography of the West. I have also participated in two group exhibitions, one open studio event, and was the lead photographer for a the cookbook “Goat Cheese”, published by Gibbs Smith in 2008. I am currently working on a portfolio of images of the Great Salt Lake.
